Let there be shades

The lines above could serve as the basis for these series of creative portrait-photography. Fully executed at our Galacpic Studio in southwest Montreal, the series comprises a number of exposures where color, fashion, make-up, lighting design, and negative space are played out.

For the technically curious, the full lighting setup consisted of most of these shots consist of 4 speedlights mounted on a beauty dish for the key light, two strip box rim lights, a BG light with various gobos plus one extra umbrella to fill from close to floor level. The camera body used was a Fujifilm X-T3, and the Fujinon 56mm F1.1 was the lens of choice for most of the pictures. The whole shoot was done tethered to Capture 1, which greatly helps simplify the capture and review process.
